YEAH!!! No More Weeds!!!

Yeah!!!!

Finally we have a nice yard like everyone else. Last fall Gordon and I decide to take out all the half dead and weed infested crap from our planters in the front yard. Don't ever live next door to people who don't give a crap about there yard...trying to control there weeds from getting into your yard is exhausting not to memtion expensive!! We had "Your Garden By Us" come last thursday and lay mulch then they put that black cloth over the mulch and planted draught tolerate flowers and plant!!! OMG! what a difference that made!!! We had 1/2" fire rock delivered on friday and Gordon filled the planters and I can't tell you how nice and clean our front yard looks now. The plants are small right now but you watch out as they grow up big this summer!!!!!!!

Finally It's Over!!

The Salt Lake City Half Marathon is finally over!!! Thank the Lord!! Amazingly enough I finished it without stopping and before I thought I would!!! All in all it was a day filled with personal goals for myself. First - I ran the fastest 3 miles ever (for me)...29 mins! Second - I didn't stop running but I have to tell you I really really really wanted to especially when I got to State St. and it started the dreaded climb up hill....I seriously wanted to die!! Third - I finished the race in 2:25 which I thought I would run it in 2:45!! For me the last 1/2 mile was probably the hardest point since I used all my energy to get up state st. and once I turned left on South Temple towards the Gateway I could not get my heart rate to recover and my legs were just done. It took all I had to get to that damn finish line until I saw my amazing cheerleaders encouraging me which some how sparked up the last of my adrenalin to pick up the pace and cross the finish line!! I want to thank Sharon and Christa for being a great support team and pushing me and having patience for a slower runner I can't believe I'm saying this but I look forward to the next Half Marathon!! A little shout out to Mike who is a super hero!!! Next year it will be us four!!!

Nervous Rambling!!!!

Well tomorrow (which is my daddy's 65th birthday!!) I will be running the Salt Lake City Half Marathon for the first time and I'm just a little anxious about it. It's a freakin loooonnnnggggg way to run. I must be completely out of my mind...I know some of you would agree!!! I have a goal which is to just finish the race without stopping. Sharon and Christa are hoping to finish it in 2 hours....I would like to be able to do that but lets be real they are running machines!!! 13.1 is so dang far so picture this----starting at the Olympic Legacy bridge running down to 2700 s then up to the gateway!!! Ya I'm going to pass out just thinking about it!!! Well wish me luck and think of me when your still in your cozy bed at 9am and I'm stilling trying to get to the finishline!!! I'll post my results!!!
