The Salt Lake City Half Marathon is finally over!!! Thank the Lord!! Amazingly enough I finished it without stopping and before I thought I would!!! All in all it was a day filled with personal goals for myself. First - I ran the fastest 3 miles ever (for me)...29 mins! Second - I didn't stop running but I have to tell you I really really really wanted to especially when I got to State St. and it started the dreaded climb up hill....I seriously wanted to die!! Third - I finished the race in 2:25 which I thought I would run it in 2:45!! For me the last 1/2 mile was probably the hardest point since I used all my energy to get up state st. and once I turned left on South Temple towards the Gateway I could not get my heart rate to recover and my legs were just done. It took all I had to get to that damn finish line until I saw my amazing cheerleaders encouraging me which some how sparked up the last of my adrenalin to pick up the pace and cross the finish line!! I want to thank Sharon and Christa for being a great support team and pushing me and having patience for a slower runner I can't believe I'm saying this but I look forward to the next Half Marathon!! A little shout out to Mike who is a super hero!!! Next year it will be us four!!!
